More about Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Sekiro mods through the same FromSoft toolchain
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (2019) is FromSoft's sengoku-period action game. Same engine family as DS3 and Elden Ring, so the modding architecture is identical, Mod Engine 2, EAC bypass, offline-only.
The mod scene is medium-sized: balance overhauls (Sekiro Online for the community PvP/co-op), boss rush mods, weapon and visual replacements. Smaller catalogue than Elden Ring's but mature.
The toolchain
- Mod Engine 2: same loader, Sekiro config.
- Sekiro Online: community-built multiplayer mod, parallel to Elden Ring's Seamless Co-op.
- Asset tools: same family of FromSoft asset editors.
What you'll find on OpenMods
Sekiro mods live primarily on Nexus Mods. OpenMods catalogues whatever GitHub-published Sekiro content exists.
Practical notes
- Offline-only. Same EAC bypass rule.
- Sekiro Online enables multiplayer. Bypasses EAC, peer-to-peer.
- Game updates are rare. Sekiro is older and not actively patched. Mod compatibility has been stable.
- Boss-rush mods are popular. Sekiro's combat depth makes balance and boss-difficulty mods a strong subset.
