More about Monster Hunter Rise
Monster Hunter Rise's mod scene parallels MH:World on the same foundation
Monster Hunter Rise (2022 PC release, Sunbreak expansion) is Capcom's parallel Monster Hunter on the RE Engine. The modding architecture is essentially identical to MH:World: REFramework, Fluffy Mod Manager, native and Lua mods.
The catalogue is smaller than MH:World's (MH:World had years to grow before MH Rise's PC release), but the foundational mods are mature and the patterns transfer directly.
The toolchain
- REFramework: same Lua framework as MH:World, with MH Rise–specific scripts.
- Fluffy Mod Manager: supports both MH:World and MH Rise.
- Direct file install: same
nativePC/andchunkN/patterns.
What you'll find on OpenMods
MH Rise mods live primarily on Nexus Mods. GitHub hosts source for REFramework. OpenMods catalogues GitHub-published MH Rise content.
Practical notes
- Same anti-cheat caution as MH:World. Private lobbies safe; public matchmaking with gameplay mods risky.
- Sunbreak expansion is baseline. Most modern MH Rise mods assume Sunbreak.
- REFramework version sensitivity. Patches break REFramework periodically; wait for updates.
- Smaller catalogue than World. Set expectations accordingly.
